Gansbaai was more than I expected and we should have stayed longer. Days starting with pink morning sunrises and ending with spectacular orange African sunsets was definitely my type of holiday.
Where is Gansbaai?
Where to stay?
If you want a clear view of the magnificent Atlantic ocean, then the Whale Sea Cottage is just the place for you. It the perfect location for day trips to surrounding reserves and tourist destinations. And the little town that has everything you need is a 15 minute walk. The best thing about this holiday home is the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks. We loved absolutely loved that! A great sound to fall asleep to at night. If you happen to book this holiday home during whale season, like we did, remember to take your binoculars so that you can watch these majestic creatures as they breach, lobtail, spy hop and sail. Your binoculars will come in handy if you are a bit of a twitcher, but if you are an avid bird watcher then I don’t have to remind you to bring them along.
